James Desemone, MD, FACP, is a practicing Diabetes Specialist and Endocrinologist who has several leadership positions for Quality Improvement at Albany Medical Center. He is an associate professor of Medicine at Albany Medical College. Dr. Desemone attended Canisius College in Buffalo and Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, followed by an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo affiliated hospitals.

Dr. Desemone will discuss why physicians-in-training have a unique perspective on quality improvement and patient safety, explore the differences between a process errors and professional practice errors and describe each person’s role in a Root Cause Analysis meeting.
